Who Should take this course
All workers who use, or supervise the use of, moving and handling equipment must ensure that they have received adequate health and safety training. This moving and handling of people course provides suitable training for all levels of employees who work closely with residents in care homes.
Managers, supervisors and other members of staff should be able to recognise the hazards posed by their work, be able to take action to reduce or eliminate the risks and understand how to follow procedures.
On successful completion of the course a high quality, personalised certificate will be posted to you the next working day. This can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.
All of our courses are accredited by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.
The course is divided into three accessible, interactive modules and includes an assessment at the end:
- Introduction to Moving and Handling - Introduction to residential care homes, the potential injuries and problems from moving and handling, the legal framework, employer and employee duties.
- Risk Assessments - What a risk assessment involves and how to put one into practice, the different types of relevant risk assessment, identifying, recording and monitoring risks, who is competent to carry out an assessment.

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 15 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 75%. The answers are marked automatically so you will instantly know whether you have passed. If you don't pass don't worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
