Major Incidents & Disasters:
International Masterclass
THE LIVE EVENT IS OVER, BUT YOU DONT NEED TO MISS OUT!
BUY ACCESS TO THE RECORDINGS
For most Emergency Services personnel, major incidents are a rare event - maybe a handful at most in a career, maybe none. Few will become experts from personal experience alone, so learning from events that have gone before is crucial to preparedness at national, organisational and individual levels.
This unique webinar brings you five world-class speakers, each of whom has operational, tactical and/or strategic experience (and some of them all of the above!) of major incidents from the UK, USA, and Lebanon. Between them, they have responded to incidents ranging from boots on the ground at 9/11, to co-ordinating the pandemic response for an entire country, and everything in between… bus crashes, train derailments, gas explosions, bioterrorism, forest fires, floods, and hurricanes.
This is an event where theory, research, and first-hand experiences come together. Our speakers will share not only what they’ve learned from their personal experiences, but what they wish they’d known beforehand and what crucial points they now find themselves passing to others.
This webinar is aimed at those who may have to plan for, and/or respond to, major incidents. As well as the obvious emergency service personnel, think also of hospital staff outside ED, council workers, undertakers, utility companies, coroners’ teams and many more. The event is also open to the general public, and promises to be a fascinating and absorbing morning.
Tickets cost only £9.99 (£4.99 for members of CPDme, which students can join for free). Contact CPDMe to discuss corporate rates for multiple employees. Don’t worry if you can’t make the live event – ticket holders can access the recording for 12 months.
SAVE THE DATE
This CPD event will turn a wide-angle lens on learning from what has gone before, and how we might accelerate shared learning by looking outside of our own countries – and especially asking countries who share similar systems, what they found whilst using them.
RECORDINGS AND CPD CERTIFICATES AVAILABLE TO ALL TICKET HOLDERS.
Can't make the live webinar?
All attendees will receive a CPD certificate along with access to all the edited recordings after the live event. If you can't make the live event, you will still get access to the recordings with the chance to request a CPD certificate for participating. Access to recordings will not be available to anyone who doesn't have a ticket. Access to just the recordings will be available after the live event, priced at £9.99.

DR LINDA DYKES

Dr Dykes is a dual-qualified Consultant Emergency Physician and GP in the UK. Possibly better known by her Twitter handle @DrLindaDykes, Linda is thankful that – despite over a quarter of a century working in Emergency Medicine – she has never been involved in a major incident, and hopes she never will!
This event came about when Linda – an avid networker - realised that her address book(bolstered by the friends she has made on the EMS Speaking circuit in the USA) contained the means to create a unique event: national/regional EPRR leaders from three different countries will share their first-hand major incident/disaster experiences, together with practical examples of how responders, planners and leaders (at all levels, and in all emergency services and responding agencies) can extract the maximum amount of useful information from events that have happened before.
This is the second Saturday Symposium that Linda has organised in conjunction with CPDMe, the first being the extremely well-received “Making Dying Better” event in March 2023.
