Q&A questions -

The following is the full script from the LIVE Q&A session that was held on the 24th June 2020, we have covered the most common questions that we get asked on a regular basis. We hope this gives you a clear understanding on features our system offers and plans we have to for the future that will further develop the features and system we offer.

Q - I’ve got content I want to share with other members and users of CPDme, is this possible? How do I do it? Where do I find this area?

A - To share something you would need to go onto your dashboard after logging in, following this you would need to select the entries feature. Once you have entered this area, you should then be able to see all the entries you have put in. From here you will be able to see a button that says share right at the end of your entry, by clicking on the share button you will get a pop up that asks you to fill in a few details. Fill in the required information and the share button should light up allowing you to share the information that you have found helpful or educational. Once you have shared this information, the shared button you pressed at the start should have turned green, you now have full control over whether you want to stop sharing that information at any point. The team at CPDme will then view this data and decide if we think its appropriate, once we have agreed it is great content we will then allow it to be shared to everyone.

To view shared CPD, all you need to do is click on the shared CPD feature on your dashboard and all accepted content can be found on there. There are filters on there so you can find precise information that is relevant to you then you can read at your on will.

Q - I’m looking to apply for a new role and want to customise my portfolio as I only want to show the appropriate CPD, how do I tailor my portfolio to the job role?

A - After continually using the system and building up your CPD from the various different sources, you will then be able to tailor your portfolio to different job roles and requirements. To customise your portfolio you will need to go into the Portfolio tool, which will give you a number of different options that will allow you to select and deselect. If you don’t want to select a certain part as it’s not appropriate to the role you are going for such as the profile picture, then simply deselect this option and it will not be added to your portfolio. Once you have completed the first stage, click next which will take you to the front page section where you can give your portfolio a title and a second line where you can date it. Press next and this is where you can start to fine tune your portfolio by allowing you to select the date range of information you want to include. This section will default to a year but you can change it to 6 months or you can extend it to cover for data by allowing 2 years. After selecting the time frame, you will come to where you can select and deselect the information you want yo include in the time frame you chose. Once you are happy with that part, select next which will take to the election page where again you can select and deselect entries you have added to the system. Lastly, you will come to the end where you will have 2 options of downloading your portfolio or emailing it to your account email. We do recommend that if your portfolio is large to email it yourself as the download can take a while to do.

Q - Is there a way of storing my data on the go which can i use later to add to my diary entries?

A - When you enter your dashboard, you will be able to see there is a my files area, if you click on this tool it will act very similar as your drop box. If you are on the go and you want to add a diary entry later which is better suited for you. To do this, you will need to click on the upload function and you can then browse your files to select the file you would like to upload. Once you have uploaded the file of your choice, it should show up in your my files section and next to it there will be a coloured block that will show if the uploaded document is attached to a diary entry. Once your file is uploaded you will be able to attach it to a diary entry as normal.

Q - I know you’ve got years of CPD experience so a bit of a personal question from me domini, what would you class as a healthy portfolio?

A - 5 tips -

1- Make sure to have a wide range of different sources of CPD

2 - Don’t have more than 2 months ago between CPD entries

3 - Have at least 10 entries of CPD a year (minimum)

4 - Evidence of learning - have at least 5 bits of evidence supporting your CPD a year

5 - All your entries are complete

Q - The app is out of date so its missing some of the features, can I use the website dashboard in a similar way to the app?

A - Yes you can, simply search for CPDme website lo into your dashboard. Once you have done this, all you will need to do is save the page to your browser then when you want to use your CPDme dashboard you can go to your browser select the CPDme which will be saved as a favourite and use it as you would the app.
